Dude of the Week: Anthony Kim

In time with the Olympics, the NBA All-Star Game, and Spring Training starting up, this week's Dude of the Week will not be a member of any of those. Hell, he is part of the "number two" league in his own sport. But this isn’t about viewership; this is about a feel-good story of hard work and bettering yourself.
Anthony Kim was once renowned as a young golf prodigy. He had the game, and even the greats like Tiger Woods knew it. He once torched Augusta with 11 birdies in a single round and had one of the most electric Sunday singles wins in Ryder Cup history. Then, Kim battled injuries and simply walked off the course, not to be heard from for nearly 12 years.
Anthony has stated that during those 12 years, he struggled terribly with addiction and depression. Then came LIV Golf. LIV brought Kim back onto the scene, and the world of golf felt teary-eyed just seeing him swing again. However, the return to the limelight didn't go smoothly at first; his play struggled, and he was actually dropped from the league.
But after battling addiction and depression, fighting his way back onto the LIV Tour through the promotions event was just another obstacle for Kim to overcome. On Sunday, "AK" made a fantastic comeback against two of the top 10 players in the world to grab his first win on LIV—and his first professional win in 16 years. This is one of the greatest resilience stories in sports, and I think the whole world can agree on how awesome this is.

Quinn Hughes Sees Goalscoring Ghosts

I know what you’re thinking — this looks exactly like the type of guy who would float around the ice like a magician, cut to the center, rip one post-and-in, and win an OT Olympic quarterfinal elimination game against some of the best players the game of hockey has ever seen. Exactly what I was thinking too…
The Americans had our balls sweating yesterday by allowing Sweden to tie the game 1–1 with just 1:31 left in the Olympic Men’s Hockey Quarterfinal.
Next thing you know, we’re in a 10-minute 3-on-3 overtime and one goal away from wondering “what if” for the next four years. Thankfully, the man who sees ghosts, Quinn Hughes, quite literally took over and sniped one to send the Swedes packing (Click to Watch). Whatever ghosts he’s seeing, KEEP FUCKING SEEING THEM — IT’S WORKING!
We are onto the Slovakia at 3:10pm eastern on Friday. USA is currently -900.
If all goes as expected, we should see a 2010 gold medal game rematch between USA and Canada. This time around, mark my words, we will flip the script and the sport of hockey becomes ours… 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Also — let’s not forget about our ladies. The USA Women’s olympic hockey team squares off with Canada today at 1:10pm eastern for the gold medal. The ladies are currently -450 and already topped Canada 5-0 earlier this tournament. Again, reinforcing the game is shifting our way. And yes, I will be betting them -1.5…

Leading from the Front : Or From the Bedside?
In the world of Daydrink, we have a shake-up in management. Our CEO and supposed “Leader of Men,” Chuck, has been—maybe—falsifying his medical records. According to him, he was “sick” last Friday, canceling content with Gerard, who is one of, if not the busiest men in Chicago.
But then, the very next day, Chuck was posted up drinking beer and watching USA Hockey. Now, there is nothing wrong with having beers and watching hockey; if anything, it is the right thing to do on a Saturday. But how does one feel deathly sick one day and then suddenly amazing the next? I am also not saying that a personal day is illegal, but don’t lie about being sick to avoid the social bar scene.
The jury is still out on whether Chuck was actually sick or just avoiding going out. Only time will tell. Our CEO does work very hard, so taking a personal day is totally within his legal rights. But the most monumental figures in history never took days off. You think Alexander the Great ever took a sick day? How about Genghis Khan? No.
Listen to the firsthand account of the incident on this week's Daydrink Radio.

The Year-End Moves No One’s Watching
Markets don’t wait — and year-end waits even less.
In the final stretch, money rotates, funds window-dress, tax-loss selling meets bottom-fishing, and “Santa Rally” chatter turns into real tape. Most people notice after the move.

Iowa Fraternity in Deep Waters
If you haven’t watched the bodycam footage from this incident, I’d honestly recommend taking 10 minutes out of your day to see the full episode.
A fire alarm went off at an Iowa fraternity house, and when police arrived, they found with what appeared to be a hazing situation. The footage shows countless shirtless pledges, completely drenched in sauce, standing there in total silence while officers questioned them. It’s almost surreal to watch — none of them saying a word.
You have to wonder if they thought it was some kind of test from the older members — maybe even that the “police” were fake and this was all part of some bizarre initiation stunt. Maybe they were thinking these cops would take their clothes off and actually be hot strippers and they were initiated into the house. This was not the case, however.
As a result of the incident, Alpha Delta Phi won’t be operating on Iowa’s campus anytime soon.

KD Burner Exposed

While All-Star Weekend was in full swing, Kevin Durant had something else on his mind — figuring out how his latest burner account got exposed.
It was pretty funny to watch. While everyone else was soaking in the spotlight, he was glued to his phone, even in the layup lines.
The account in question reportedly featured some less-than-friendly comments about former teammates — and even a few current ones. Not exactly the kind of thing you want surfacing in the middle of All-Star festivities.
Now Durant may be facing a few uncomfortable conversations in the months ahead as he works to smooth things over and rebuild relationships that were publicly criticized by an account named “getoffmydickerson.”
Peak All-Star Weekend chaos.

NBA All Star Weekend: Some Wins, Mostly L’s

The NBA All-Star Weekend was this past weekend in LA at the Intuit Dome. The All-Star Weekend has been quite a controversial subject among NBA fans for the past five years, I would say. Many players do not show the same enthusiasm as they used to. No one wants to get hurt, and it shows with how slow and lazy they play. On one hand, I do get it—why risk injury? But we want to see some meaningful basketball between the world's best players.
Take the Olympics, for example. They were electric to watch because everyone was trying. So, Adam Silver tried to replicate that with the World vs. USA format. Honestly, it wasn’t half-bad, and the gameplay was actually pretty good with stars like Ant (Anthony Edwards) and Wemby (Victor Wembanyama) trying very hard. It seems like the young players are trying to bring the ASG back to life, and I am all for it.
Now, the other big issue is the other aspects of the weekend. The NBA Three-Point Contest was a joke. Damian Lillard competed in the contest and he hasn’t played a minute of basketball all year. The Dunk Contest just continues to get worse and worse. Jaxson Hayes had the worst dunk I have ever seen in my life in the contest. Bro literally just took a full step inside the free-throw line and did a normal ass dunk. Then somehow Dwight Howard gave that dunk a 47; I am baffled by how bad it has become.
Adam Silver, this is my message to you: PAY MAC MCCLUNG 10 MILLION EVERY YEAR TO COMPETE IN THE DUNK CONTEST. After all of the negative I have just written, I do believe that we may be back on the right track with the young stars rising to the occasion.

Burns Lock of the Week (2026 record: 2-1.)

UFC is back this weekend with a fight night card and a big main event, Sean Strickland is back. He’s a pretty decent underdog in this fight and do we take him? I don’t think so. Give me Anthony Hernandez to win by KO/TKO/DQ or by decision -130.

Stocks

Market Recap:
Another high-distribution week. Instagram and TikTok sustained elevated reach, driving continued audience growth. A breakout performance from Burns added meaningful acceleration, and Facebook activation expanded total platform exposure. Sales stabilized while overall brand momentum strengthened.
Analyst Outlook:
Bullish.
Back-to-back large reach weeks suggest this may be more than a one-off spike. With additional filming opportunities and content releases ahead, DDNK enters the next stretch with momentum and expanding distribution channels.
