Dude of the Week: Jason Myers

Last Dude of the Week involving the football season…sad. Many of you know who I am probably going to give the honor to this week if you watched the game. Super Bowl MVP…. Jason Myers. ROBBED OF A SPECIAL TEAMS MEMBER MVP, FIX THIS ROGER. Now I am partially joking I must admit because the guy who won it, Kenneth Walker, definitely had a strong case and did everything to win MVP. It just would’ve been cool to see a kicker win MVP and not even have to make a game winning kick. But for real Jason Myers had a helluva game and was at least in contention to win SB MVP. Myers also finished the season with the most points ever scored by an NFL player + the post season (206 total points). Some of the stats in comparison are also insane. Myers had more points in the SB than the whole Patriots team, Jason Myers also scored more points Sunday than all of the Alabama drafted players in SB history (Jalen Hurts doesn’t count cry about it). Congratulations to Jason Myers on this weeks Dude of the Week.

The Legend: Lindsey Vonn

If you do not know who Lindsey Vonn is you are about to hear about one of the greatest Americans, known for resilience and domination. Lindsey Vonn has been on the skiing scene since the early 2000s. Vonn was first recognized for legit never slowing down, girl didn’t know what hitting the brakes even meant. She received her first medal in 2010 at the Vancouver where she won Gold in downhill and 3 bronzes in Super-G. I don’t even know what the hell Super-G is but it sounds awesome. Vonn struggled in her career with injuries due to her fast paced skiing. Tearing her right ACL twice and left ACL once. She actually just tore her ACL this January 30th and then competed on it that same Sunday, BEAST. Vonn almost completed another insane comeback but on Sunday while competing in the downhill broke her tibia. She is the ultimate competitor with one of the craziest winning stat lines ever.

Olympics:

1 Gold

2 Bronze

World Cup:

82 World Cup wins

4 Overall World cup titles

5 Super-G Titles

Now I don’t know shit about skiing but an American that never hits the brakes is what this country is all about. Resilience, dominance, and speed all in one person. Lindsey Vonn you are a HOF American Athlete and deserve your flowers.

Hockey History on the Line:

Starting today the USA Olympic Men’s hockey team takes the ice on a quest for gold. At 3:10pm est the puck drops against Latvia. The 2026 men’s olympic hockey tournament has historical implications for a few reasons.

#1. For the first time since 2014, we have NHL players competing in the Olympics. That’s right — we have best-on-best hockey, and the last time we saw that at the 4 Nations, we’ll just say it was one of the most electric things the sports world has ever seen.

#2. Absolutely anything can happen. As I am writing this, I am watching Slovakia beat Finland in the preliminary round. Slovakia has only 7 of 25 rostered NHL players on their team, while the Finns have 24 of 25. Along with that, if you have an ounce of American pride, you’ve probably heard of the biggest underdog story in sports history — the 1980 USA Men’s Olympic Hockey Team. This year, I expect to see fireworks.

#3. The USA has a chance to change the hockey landscape forever — a game that has been owned by those bastards up north for decades. To break it down, in 1980, 82% of NHL players were Canadian, while only 11% were American. Fast forward to 2026: Canada now accounts for 42% of the NHL, while the USA sits at 28%. The game is growing, and the tides are changing in our favor. The Americans put up one hell of a fight last year at the 4 Nations, but ultimately didn’t get the job done.

In my opinion, if the Americans can find a way to bring home gold, we officially claim the sport of hockey.

Historic Performance, Immediate Rejection

I’m sure most of you have heard the story by now, but if you haven’t: a Norwegian Olympian won a bronze medal and used his post-event interview to publicly confess and apologize to his now ex-girlfriend.

She responded — and let’s just say it did not go the way he probably pictured in his head. Apparently, not even an Olympic medal is enough to win her back.

Which raises the question: would gold have made a difference… or was the relationship permanently over?

Ransom Paid; No Progress Made

I’m not going to break down the entire Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case — if you haven’t heard about it by now, you’re already behind.

On Tuesday night, the Guthrie family reportedly paid the alleged $6 million ransom. Shortly after, the FBI detained a suspect in connection with the case. For a few hours, it looked like there might finally be progress.

Then the suspect was released and cleared of any involvement.

You can only imagine how gut-wrenching that must have been for the family — wiring $6 million, seeing a potential break in the case, and then, just hours later, finding themselves right back at square one. The whole situation feels like something out of a movie. The twists, the timing, the uncertainty.

Below are the photos authorities released of the alleged kidnapper at the doorstep of Nancy’s home if you have not seen them yet.

From Kickoff to Confetti

Well it is official, the NFL season is over and I do not know what to do with myself for the next 7 months. This season was definitely one of the weirder ones in recent history, but was also awesome to follow. We had teams that surprised us like the Carolina Panthers, teams that disappointed like the Philadelphia Eagles, and a playoff that did not feature the Kansas City Chiefs. We had early season hopefuls that died out mid season like the Bucs and Qb’s take the next step like Drake Maye and Caleb Williams. All in all I would say I really enjoyed this season. Like I mentioned it was not typical like the years before. Congratulations to the SB champion Seattle Seahawks. Sam Darnold completes the ultimate comeback story by winning the Superbowl in dominant fashion. The Seahawks defense stayed strong all year and proved it in the SB. We get to see a young team in the Patriots come back next year sore and hungry. But after this season it really shows any team can make a full 180. Big questions is will teams that had their first taste of success in a while like, the Chicago Bears keep it up and make it far in the playoffs next year. Take the Lions for example, they had a fantastic 2024 season that ended rough in the early playoffs and then failed to make the playoffs this year. This league is a never ending revolving door of success and anyone can make a run. I am sad to see the season end, but am excited for the draft and seeing that pig skin fly again on August 6th at Canton.

Burns Lock of the Week (2026 record: 2-0.)

We’ve been cooking with these locks and this weekend is a bit dry on sports, but we do have the Pebble Beach Pro Am and I’m gonna keep it simple here. Viktor Hovland is the absolute man and he had himself a damn good weekend at the WM last weekend, let’s run it back again.

Hovland to make the top 10: +210.

Stocks

Market Recap:

Breakout distribution week. Massive spikes in Instagram and TikTok reach drove brand exposure and audience growth at scale. Sales lagged behind the traffic surge, but the market views this as a top-of-funnel win rather than a demand issue. Sentiment improved meaningfully following a successful Boston trip and strong on-the-ground content.

Analyst Outlook:

Bullish, with execution risk.
The reach is real. The next challenge is repeatability—turning event-driven spikes into consistent weekly distribution and converting attention into revenue. If the team can systematize this playbook, upside remains.
