Dude of the Week: Jeremiah Fears

We have had football guys pretty much every week this newsletter has been in existence. I wanted to change up the vibes and just congratulate a straight menace. This week's Dude of the Week is Jermiah Fears. Now his last name is Fears but this kid doesn’t have any. Straight conflict seeking missile on the court. He has tried to fight every team the Pelicans have played and also been balling pretty well as a 19 year old Rookie. Averaging 13 PPG and trying to revive the dumpster fire that is the New Orleans Pelicans.  He also has one of the coolest jerseys in the game. Fears recently got into it with OKC’s Lou Dort, who is worth nothing besides hard fouls and maybe 5 points. I am a Fears fan now and hoping he has a great career and continues to be a fireball in the league.

Best Time Zone for Sports ?

I am currently out in Portland and watching sports out here has been sweet. The time zone has all of the games earlier and you can leave work and immediately start watching ball. But then for college football you would have games starting at 9 am which would suck having to wake up early from a night out to catch the noon games. NFL international games in Europe would also start at 6 am (Keep the game in the USA Goodell). Then I thought about Mountain Time being the best but it’s also delayed for college football which would suck again. So I have come to the conclusion that Central Time is the best time zone to watch ball in. College football starts at 11 am, late games start at 7:30 pm. It just seems like the perfect medium. Never really thought of this topic before but with traveling it has really made me have an internal debate. The East coast sucks for late games, the west coast sucks for early games and the mountain time is basically the same as the west coast. So congrats to all of my central time people on having the best ball watching experience.

Belichick Snubbed from Hall of Fame

It came out this week that Bill Belichick was not voted in as a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Objectively, that’s pretty absurd—and honestly, a little sad. It highlights how the Hall of Fame voting process has drifted away from recognizing undeniable greatness and toward something far more subjective.

There are clearly a handful of voters who simply don’t like Belichick, and it’s disappointing that personal bias was allowed to carry that much weight in a decision that’s supposed to be about legacy, impact, and results. When someone with his résumé doesn’t clear the bar immediately, it raises uncomfortable questions about what the Hall of Fame is actually rewarding—and whether the process now values narrative and personality over historical dominance.

Jack, with a very sophisticated and rationale take here^.
I personally think they just didn’t want Jordan Hudson showing up and fucking it all up.

Sydney Sweeney Fills Hollywood Sign with Bras

Sydney Sweeney allegedly went out to the Hollywood sign and covered it with bras. Predictably, a very specific demographic did not enjoy this idea at all, and she is now “under fire” once again. Think pieces are being drafted. Tweets are being bookmarked. Pearl-clutching is at an all-time high.

What really kills me, though, is that some people genuinely think she could get arrested for this. As if the LAPD is scrambling helicopters over a hypothetical lace bra hanging off a federally protected landmark. As if the Hollywood sign hasn’t survived way worse than an imagined Victoria’s Secret-coded crime.

The whole thing feels like another case of the internet confusing mild celebrity nonsense with an actual legal or moral crisis—and treating Sydney Sweeney like a rogue mastermind instead of what she actually is: a famous woman existing loudly in public, which apparently remains deeply offensive to some corners of the internet.

Burns Lock of the Week: Volkanovski ML -148

UFC is back with yet another insane card this weekend, so many damn good fights but yet again just like last week I wanna focus on the main event. I gave out a winner in over 2.5 rounds in Paddy Vs Justin but for Saturday night, you can’t not take Volkanovski ML -148. Pro tip: parlay it with Seahawks ML to get them at plus money🫣

Stocks

Market Recap:

Broad pullback across platforms. Sales and growth slowed, and TikTok distribution was disrupted for several days, weighing on overall reach. Internal execution issues and seasonal headwinds added pressure. The market responded by pricing in short-term uncertainty.

Analyst Outlook:

Bearish short-term. DDNK needs tighter execution and a content reset to regain confidence. A clean bounce-back week could stabilize the price, but sentiment is fragile.
